Fashion Meets Irish History & Heritage

Irish history, culture and heritage have always been hugely interesting areas to me. History was one of my most adored Leaving Certificate subjects as I just found it completely fascinating to learn about our ancestry and the courageous Irish heroes who bravely fought for our freedom. The 1916 Commemerative events taking place around Ireland this year have undoubtedly proven a riveting success and a wonderful opportunity for us all to reflect on the past while looking forward to our future.

Terrible Beauty, a homegrown jewellery company created a sublime jewellery range inspired by the remarkable people and events of Irish history. It is an absolute honour for me to wear their "Grace Proclamation Pendant" with an 18ct gold plated finish. This stunning piece was inspired by the love story between 1916 Rising Leader Joseph Plunkett and Grace Gifford and contains an inscription of the Proclamation.
