Glorious Green Tea!

Health, beauty and vitality truly reflect from the inside out. Who remembers the old saying "what you put into your body can either be the slowest form of poison or the best medicine?" I've discovered over the years that this is unbelievably true! Did you know that green tea is revered as the healthiest drink in the world? Research scientist Dr. Christopher Ochner even certified that he cannot think of a healthier beverage to sip on! So is the hype around green tea really justified and just what magical benefits does this popular drink contain?

Benefits of Green Tea

  1. The powerful antioxidants and flavonoids in green tea fight viruses, help prevent cancer, prevent inflammation and help with allergies
  2. Improved cognitive functioning: studies have shown that drinking green tea enhances brain functioning, memory and reduces your risk of developing Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease 
  3. Relaxation: green tea contains I-theanine which has anxiety reducing affects (this came in very handy during stressful times in college) and can be so soothing if you feel stressed due to work or any life circumstance
  4. Green tea is anti-bacterial therefore preventing cavities, bad breath and tooth loss!
  5. Weight Loss: studies have shown green tea boosts the metabolic rate which is very important in increasing fat burning and proves that green tea is an essential for those hoping to lose weight. Notably it is particularly effective at reducing the dangerous abdominal fat!
